Fuel Up to Play 60 is the nation’s largest in-school health and wellness program, created by the National Dairy Council and National Football League in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This free program offers funding opportunities for schools and an online Playbook full of school-tested action strategies to improve healthy eating and physical activity at schools and beyond. Fuel Up to Play 60 empowers students, with the support of adults, to take the lead in making healthy changes and to have a positive impact in their communities. Over 73,000 schools are involved, and 38 million students have been reached through the program nationwide.

Flag Football challenge
NFL Fuel Up students took a break from completing assignment on the computer and earning points to potentially attend the summit! We went outside and played a game of flag football! The activity allowed for them to put several skills they learned into action and showcase that they've mastered some "plays" from their NFL Fuel Up accounts!
healthy pizza challenge
Fuel Up to Play 60 club completed a healthy pizza making challenge by making the following pizzas: traditional, meat lovers, Hawaiian, supreme, veggie, and cheese. Student followed the ingredients to create these delicious pizzas and we got to enjoy them after they cooked.
Nutrition presentation
On Friday, December 19th, 2019 the FUTP 60 team put together a presentation to showcase the 5 food groups. The students were separated into groups and spent a week researching their food group to put together a presentation and answer questions when asked.
memphis rox field trip
On Friday, February 7, 2020, FUTP 60 students went on a field trip to Memphis Rox to have fun and learn the values that apply to leadership traits. Students learned the importance of climbing through obstacles and overcoming challenges. They were able to use their peers for assistance and showcase their leadership skills by lending a helping hand!

FUTP 60 students had the unique opportunity to take a virtual field trip to a dairy farm in vermont! The dairy farm belonged to Bet Howrigan and has been in her family through 8 generations, dating all the way back to 1876! Students got to ask lots of questions to get a better understanding of the daily life of a dairy farmer. The farm produces milk and maple syrup! The farm consists of over 350 cows that work to produce milk on a daily basis. We can't wait to visit the farm again! |
